Leading my Team
I'm just now staring my junior year of college and also my third year of college basketball. All through my time of playing basketball throughout my life, I have rarely been called upon to be a leader of the team I play for. It wasn't because I wasn't capable of it or was afraid to be but because there were always people ahead of me that were older or more experienced or just all around better at the game than I was. This year I find myself in a position where I have to be one of the leaders of my team because we have lost some of our leadership from the past years and now I have to step up as well as some other people. Being a captain of the team isn't a really big deal to me because no matter what I will step up and speak up and try and lead my team in the best possible direction for success because that's ultimately what I want for us. Don't get me wrong being a captain is a great honor and I would graciously accept that role but it wouldn't change my approach to my season and my role I have now whether I were a captain or not because in the end I just want to win and have fun doing it.

College Cheat Code
I would like to try and give some insight to those who are new to college whether they be freshman or just starting college for the first time after sitting out for a year or two or however long it may have been. There is something that I have learned over my four years in college and that is the importance of some type of planning ability. For some students its easy to keep track of assignments and due dates because that is how their brain works, but for students like me who have trouble with that due to the immense number of hours they are taking or like myself are an athlete and find it hard to balance everything on the same plate. I've come to realize that the one thing that could save your year as far as grades is a planner. It doesn't even have to be a real deal planner but maybe a notebook that you use everyday and make sure you take it to every class. There is just one simple step to this method and that is to make sure whatever assignments are given during the class you immediately after they are assigned, write them down in the planner with the due date. The reason for this is that after all classes are over and for the athletes practice or even if you just have a job, you get back to your room and want to relax and maybe you don't remember what was assigned in each class. With the planner you don't have to worry because you know you have it written down somewhere. If you follow this method I can personally guarantee you will see the difference in your time management of assignments and the number of assignments that are missed if you ever had that problem before. Trust me it works!!!!
